Welcome to the St Athan Community Council Web site, we hope you will find it a useful point of

reference for local information.

We have recently updated the site, so we hope you like the ‘new look’ and have also added a special ‘Community’ area, for all the local activities, clubs, businesses and much more – to view please follow the ‘My St Athan’ tab off the menu.

The St Athan Community Council is made up of 3 wards covering the villages of St Athan, Gileston and Flemingston.

St Athan (Sain Tathan) is a village located in the Vale of Glamorgan, and is probably best known by the former RAF St Athan base which lies to its north, now known as MOD St Athan.

St Athan lies approx. 8 miles (13km) northwest of Barry with Llantwit Major to the West and the Bristol Channel to the South, with the ancient market town of Cowbridge to the north.

We are well served by a number of facilities that includes two pubs, three community halls, a library, post office, two doctor surgeries, chemist, three general stores, three hair dressers, two take aways, and laundry.

We would welcome suggestions for additional items to enhance the site in particular local news, diary dates and information on community groups, clubs and activities.
